The story actually starts many years before 2008 when I was given a 10 pound slab of chocolate as a gift from my aunt. As the person in the family who experimented with new recipes, culinary styles and food in general, the rest of the family was eager to see what I could come up with. Who would have thought years later I’d turn it into a business I love. Not knowing much about tempering chocolate I set my mind to research and experimenting with different techniques. I found that I loved “playing with chocolate”, leaving me wanting to learn as much as I could.

While learning and testing new creations my family was always very eager and willing to taste anything new and provide honest opinions. This along with a lot of taste tests allowed me to develop the blend of the different types of chocolates that currently make up the Emalyn Sweets taste our customers love.

I started giving my chocolates as gifts to family and friends who thought they were delicious. Looking around the room as I walked through the front door during the holidays, I’d see my families faces light up as they realized I had tons of chocolate with me. Everyone couldn’t wait to taste what I had come up with, I’d always hear an argument over who got the last piece.

I have taken several courses and programs. I am a graduate of the Ecole Chocolat Professional Chocolatier Program and the Maitre Chocolatier Program in Vancouver, BC. I attend many Chocolatier Workshops and I am constantly learning.

We do not have a storefront but we do have a commercial kitchen where all our chocolate is made. All of our products are handmade. We blend all our chocolates from the finest domestic and Belgian chocolates available. We ship anywhere in the United States, but do not ship in warm weather months. My chocolate can be found in Brookfield, CT in Chihuahua’s Deli and Jesters Coffee Shop and Brookfield Craft Center. It is also carried in several Tazza Café locations, Ridgefield, CT and in Katonah, Armonk and Millwood, New York.

We travel to many office buildings for corporate sales events, Chocolate Expo’s and Artisan/Craft events. I love to watch the expression on people’s faces as they enjoy our fine handmade chocolates.
